Identify the body parts (face, hand, ear, eye, nose) from the recording and the given pictures; 2. Identify the situations for a conversation between Mai and Bill (setting, participants, topic) and the sentence patterns: What’s this? - It’s 3. Activity 2: Look, listen and repeat (CD1- Track 35) * Teaching vocabulary - Stick one by one flashcard of body parts - Play audio and have students listen, repeat several times and point to the pictures in their books. - Change the order of the flashcards, point them individually and have students say the words. - Correct Ss’ pronunciation if necessary. * Game “Simon says” - When T says “Simon says: (a nose, )”, Ss point to the correct body part - When T says “ (a nose, )”, Ss do not point to any body parts * Set context - T shows the pictures in part 1 and asks students the following questions: + Who are they? (Mai and Bill) + What are they doing? (Bill is pointing to the nose and Mai is saying) Let’s listen to the dialogue to know what they are doing. - Play the audio the 1st time for Ss to listen. - Play the audio the 2nd time for Ss to listen and read. - Show the picture and elicit structure from Ss. * Write the structure on the board. What’s this? It’s a nose. Activity 3: Listen, point and say. (Track 36) - elicit the pictures. - make a model with picture a. - Ask Ss to ask and answer in pairs with pictures b, c, d. - Call some closed pairs and opened pairs to perform.

Activity 4: Let’s talk Game: Passing a ball - Divide class into 2 big groups, each group has a ball. - While the music plays, pupils pass the ball around the class. - When the music stops, the pupil in each group with the ball has to take turns to ask and answer: What’s this? (point to body part). - It’s a ___. Activity 5: Wrap- up & Assignments - Ask Ss to answer the following questions: 1. What have you learnt from the lesson today? 2. What are the core values of the lesson? Big idea: Students should keep parts of their body clean avoid infectious diseases especially protect themselves from Covid-19. We should also respect other’s body. Ask students to learn vocabulary, sentence patterns and prepare the next lesson (Lesson 1 part 4.5.6) at home. UNIT 4: Our bodies LESSON 1 (page: 28-29) Period: 02 STAGE 1: DESIRED OBJECTIVES/ OUTCOMES A. OBJECTIVES By the end of the lesson, students will be able to: 1. use the words : ear, eye, face, hand, nose and sentence pattern What ‘s this/ that ? Activity 3: Look, complete and read. (page 29) - Use 4 pictures in activity 5 on page 29 to elicit: ear, eye, face, hand, nose. - Look at the pictures, identify the body parts in the pictures. - Look at the four incomplete dialogues - Model with Picture 1. Have pupils look at the dialogue. Ask them what is missing in the answer (an ear). Then have them look at the picture and identify the body part. Then have them complete the gap (What’s this? - It's an ear.). - Follow the same procedure with Pictures 2, 3 and 4. - Complete the dialogues individually and ask a few pairs to read them aloud. Activity 4: Guided Practice (Activity 5: Work in pairs. Ask and answer about parts of body on page 29) - Back to the structure What’s this/ that? - It’s a/an - Ask students to listen and repeat the structure - Ask students to ask and answer each other - Call some pairs to act out the dialogue Activity 4: Sing (Activity 6: Let’s sing on page 29) - Draw pupils’ attention to the title and lyrics of the song. - Play the audio all the way through for pupils to listen to the whole song. - Play the audio line by line for pupils to listen and repeat. - Play the audio all the way through for pupils to sing along. Activity 6: Wrap-up & Assignments - Ask students to answer the following questions: 1. What have you learnt from the lesson today? (talk about our body parts and use the sentence pattern “What’s this / that? – It’s a/an ” to ask and answer about the body parts.) 2. What’re the core values of the lesson? (show their love body by taking care of the body parts clean by themselves to avoid Covid-19 virus) - Remind students to do exercises in the workbook and to prepare for the next lesson (Unit 4, Lesson 2 on pages 30).

Identify the situations for a conversation between Mrs Hoa, Linh, Bill and the dentist (setting, participants, topic ) 3. Talk about their body parts using the sentence patterns: touch your ! and open your ! 4. Conduct a demanding sentence with the sentence patterns: touch your ! and open your ! 5. Show their love for their body by taking care of the body parts clean by themselves and using their appropriate intonation, facial expressions and gestures while talking about their body parts. B. Then checks Ss’ guessing. When Sts answer correctly (Touch your face!) + Tell them to draw a line to match the two sentence halves -Have Sts work in groups and match the sentence 2, 3 and 4. - Ask a few Sts to stand up and read the matched instructions aloud. -T gives feedbacks. Check Ss’ understanding by getting one Ss to repeat what they have to do. - Have the whole class play the game. Ask one or two Sts to be the observer(s) of the game. Give out the instructions and monitor Sts while they play the game. Activity 5: Wrap- up & Assignments - Ask Ss to answer the following questions: 1. What have you learnt from the lesson today? 2. Activity 3: practice writing. - Tell the class that they are going to read and complete the sentences. - Tell them to look at the pictures on the screen first. - Read the first question together. Get pupils’ attention to the picture 1 (a hand) and elicit the answer. - Encourage pupils to write the first answer in their notebooks. - Repeat the instructions for other three pictures. - Give pupils time to correct their answers in pairs. - Pupils can look at the pictures and read the sentences aloud. * Key: 1, a hand. 2, an eye. 3, nose. 4, open. Activity 4: Design flashcards about parts of the body. - Have pupils take out of pieces of papers on which parts of the body were drawn. - Ask pupils to work in groups of four.
