NGỮ PHÁP: I. CÁCH SỬ DỤNG " ALTHOUGH, DESPITE, IN SPITE OF Chỳng ta sử dụng although, despite, in spite of để thể hiện sự tương phản giữa hai hành động (hai mẩu thụng tin) trong cựng một cõu. Chỳng ta sử dụng although trước một mệnh đề và despite, in spite of trước một danh từ (noun) hoặc cụm danh từ (noun phrase). 1. Although (dự, mặc dự, cho dự) Although + S + verb Vớ dụ: - Although the home team lost, they played very well. (Mặc dự đội nhà đó thua, họ chơi khỏ tốt.) - Although he is so young, he performs excellently. (Mặc dự cậu ấy quỏ trẻ, cậu ấy biểu diễn xuất sắc.)

(Mặc dự cũn quỏ trẻ, cậu ấy biểu diễn xuất sắc.) Despite/ in spite of his young age, he performs excellently. (Mặc dự nhỏ tuổi, cậu ấy biểu diễn xuất sắc.) Lưu ý: Khi dựng although, despite, in spite of ta khụng dựng but và ngược lại khi dựng but ta khụng dựng although, despite, in spite of. Vớ dụ : Although he is so young, he performs excellently. (Cậu ấy quỏ trẻ. Tuy nhiờn, cậu ấy biểu diễn xuất sắc.) Lưu ý: However, nevertheless là trạng từ nờn cú thể bổ nghĩa cho tớnh từ và trạng từ.
